About THE ARTIST

Jeffrey Allan W. McCredie

McCredie has painted for over 50 years. A graduate of Eastern University, he was the first student from Eastern ever awarded a Fulbright Scholarship. While at Eastern, he studied privately with Daniel Miller (PAFA), Ithzak Sankowsky (Philadelphia Museum of Art), and Peter Thrasher. He studied Fine Art as a Fulbright Scholar to the University of Hamburg, Germany, and the Corcoran School of Art, with graduate degrees from Temple and Georgetown University. He has painted all over the world and in various places in the U.S., including metropolitan Washington, D.C., Virginia, North Carolina, and California.

He has sold paintings and painted commissions for diplomats, Hollywood studios, corporate executives, and private collectors through galleries in California and Washington, D.C., Virginia, North Carolina, and the Philadelphia area. He has taught private art classes to seniors, veterans, and disabled people. Currently, he has a studio in Chester County and he is a member of the Chester County Art Association and the Lancaster County Art Association.

McCredie is inspired by the plein air painters of the late 19th and early 20th century. He paints the changing light, movement, and color variations in the beauty of nature. His paintings reflect bright color and fantasy scenes, in the hopes of creating a visual world of warmth.
